The 2011 NHL Playoff match-ups are set. Although the Chicago Blackhawks lost to the Detroit Red Wings in a crucial game today, they were able to squeak into the 8th and final spot in the Western Conference.
At around 3pm, after the completion of the Chicago vs. Detroit game, the Dallas Stars controlled their own playoff destiny. With the Dallas Stars and the Minnesota Wild tied with 3 goals each heading into the third period, the Chicago faithful were thinking that they would be on the outside looking in. A two goal third period by the Wild, however, tromped the playoff hopes of the Stars and pushed the Blackhawks into the playoffs. Below are the playoff match ups.
